Due to the current events with the COVID-19 pandemic, we have expanded our After School Enrichment Program (ASEP) to be full day programming.  Students in Kindergarten (K2) through 5th Grade come in to attend school remotely at ACCESS and receive additional help for their remote learning.  Here, students work on their homework, have lunch and snack, play social distance games outdoors, and participate in various enrichment activities during the week.  Activities include arts, crafts, and Bible stories. During vacation days and full weeks, we continue to do enrichment activities and enjoy spending the whole day with each other without the presence of computer screens.

SCHEDULE

Due to Boston Public School's Extended Learning Time, we have changed the schedule of our After School Enrichment Program.  Below is the approximate schedule we follow during a normal After School day:

3:45 pm Pick up from Josiah Quincy Elementary School*

4:15 pm Snack and Read Aloud/Recess, if time permits

4:30 pm Enrichment Activity (if finished with homework)

5:30 pm Program Ends

*We also accept students from other schools.  However, due to staffing limitations, we can only do bus pickup for students from Harvard-Kent Elementary School and the Eliot K-8 Innovation School.  For other schools, please call us with your child(ren)'s school and bus information, and we will try our best to handle bus pickup, but it is not a guarantee.

CALENDAR

ACCESS COVID-19 Full Day Enrichment Program runs concurrently with the Boston Public School calendar, Monday through Friday, beginning in September and ending in June. Exceptions to our normal program schedule are listed below.

Early Release Days

Program Starts: 9:00am

Program Ends:  3:00pm

Day before Thanksgiving

Last 2 days of the academic calendar

Full Days

Program Starts: 9:00am 

Program Ends: 5:30pm

On days where ACCESS is not closed, and BPS has no school, ACCESS is open for Full Day Programming.  There are approximately 15 Full Days during the academic school year.

Program Closures

ACCESS is closed 16 days of the calendar year, as per EEC regulations.  We are also closed once a week to conduct routine cleaning of our facility. Depending on the year and weather, ACCESS reserves the right to close on additional days for safety.

TUITION

The full cost to run our program is $500/month for the full day program. Our costs go into paying our staff as well as utilities and fees for the facility. We recognize that this is expensive to many; therefore, we have several opportunities available to help decrease cost.  Please call us to inquire about EEC Contract Slots, Voucher information, and our sliding scale.  Ask to speak with the Director of Children and Families for more information.
